The
Haviland china mark "New York," refers to the company founded by
Theodore Haviland's son William in 1936. After William regained the
rights to the Haviland name in 1941, the patterns produced in his New
York factory continued to bear the name "Theodore Haviland." Each
dinnerware pattern produced by the Theodore Haviland New York factory
was given a unique name, printed in script below the backstamps.
