This is a pair of lovely figurines produced by the renowned Potschappel factory of the genuine Dresden artist Carl Thieme. Both pieces are set upon ornate, gold-gilt rococo style bases. Their garments, including sleeves and hemlines, are also decorated with gold gilding and floral patterns. Much of the aspects of these pieces, including the hair, the facial features, and the floral prints on the clothing, are handpainted with exquisite detail. These pieces are "true" Dresden, the style of which would be imitated by porcelain artists for many generations to come.
