This oval vegetable bowl is decorated with the antique Meakin china pattern "Newark". The smooth gold trimmed rim encloses a blue wave patterned background. Laying atop the background are baskets of purple and magenta flowers that are surrounded by scroll work. The underside of the oval vegetable bowl is stamped in blue "Newark J. & G. Meakin Hanley England".
