This porcelain bread and butter plate is an antique C. Ahrenfeldt china piece. The crimped edge is trimmed in a band of gold, and along the inner edge of the rim it is encircled with another more delicate gold colored band. Between the outer rim and spilling over the inner ring are whimsy floral sprays. Depicted in lively mauves, blues, yellows, and greens the strikingly fine flowers are offset by pale purple foliage that gently sweeps toward the center of the plate. The underside of the plate is stamped twice in green: "France Deposi' with the Ahrenfeldt stamp and "C. Ahrenfeldt Limoges Patented"
