This phenomenal Dresden lace piece features a dancer in a luxurious white dress and a royal blue bodice. All of the colorful details are handpainted, including her shoes, the sculpted flowers upon her dress, the pink sash, and her incredibly detailed and realistic facial features. By far the most impressive aspects of the piece are the folds upon folds of delicate porcelain lace, perfectly modeled and layered in such a way as to fool the eyes into imagining, in their place, the softest of fabrics. Her hair and the lace fringes of her dress are inset with exquisitely shaped and vibrantly colored flowers. The figure is expertly balanced upon a gold-gilt rococo style base, characteristic of the finest Dresden pieces.
The piece is in nearly perfect condition, with only the tiniest section of lace damaged underneath the piece, which is invisible to the casual observer.
