This reticulated plate is a lovely example of the fine craftsmanship of Carl Schumann, with the 'Schumann Dresden' pattern. The plate is decorated in the Dresden style with colorful rococo flower prints. The rim is smooth and flowing with gold gilding, which makes a striking contrast to the bright rainbow of the delicate flora. The most stunning aspect of the piece is the pierced rim, cut in elaborate designs. The underside of the dish is stamped in blue with the Schumann crest below which is written, "Schumann, Dresden". It is then stamped again in blue: "Bavaria".
