This elegant fruit dish is an excellent example of the fine craftmanship of the Von Schierholz factory in Plaue, Germany. This piece, prouduced between 1912 and 1972, is decorated in the rococo revival style--characterized by its generous display of pastel colors, flowers, and extraordinary handpainted features. The bowl is exquisitely sculpted, with gold gilding flowing into the scrollwork along the edges. Putti are seated upon opposite rims of the bowl--one plays a pipe as the other strums upon a guitar. There are some chips on the flower petals, but the piece is in otherwise excellent condition. Priced as is!
