This porcelain lace figurine was produced in the Oldest Volkstedt Porcelain Factory in Volkstedt, Germany, post 1945. Balancing on her toes, this lovely ballerina displays her grace and poise magnificently with her outstretched hand over her head and her leg with pointed toes held in mid air behind her. Her ivory gown holds 5 layers of delicate lace, adorned with colorful flowers. Accenting it further is her yellow bodice and shoes. The backstamp is the blue mark of the Volkstedt factory with the number 1762 beneath it. There are only 2 areas with small damage to the lace on this piece -at the bottom ruffle in the front just to her left of center. This area has one full pleat missing, but is not that noticeable as it is still very full and does not show a gap. The second area is at the back of her dress in the 4th row of ruffles to the right of center. Part of one pleat is missing, but to catch it one must study it as it is hard to find. More pictures are forthcoming to view on this site, but for now, are available upon request.
