This is a lovely porcelain lace figurine produced in the Oldest Volkstedt Porcelain Factory in Volkstedt, Germany. The delightful pose of the young ballerina shows her grace and poise. Pretty blue, yellow and lavendar flowers accent her lovely white and pink lace gown. The hand painted lavendar bodice and shoes strike a complimentary balance. There are 2 areas of damage to the lace on this dancer's dress. At the rear of the dress to the right of center along the pink ruffle, there is an area of missing lace approx. 1/2" x 1/2" (1.4cm). On the left side of her dress, there is a small area of missing lace approx 1/4" x 1/8" (7cm x 3cm). On the opposite side, on the right side of her dress is an area on the pink ruffle that appears to have a small area of damage of broken lace, 1/8" x 1/4". Further pictures are forthcoming for viewing, but for now, are available upon request. This piece bears the blue backstamp of the crowned mark with the numbering 1762 below it, as depicted next to the Volkstedt category name at the page top.
