This porcelain lace figurine was manufactured at the Oldest Volkstedt Porcelain Factory in Volkstedt, Germany post 1945. True to the Volkstedt Dresden style lace, this ballerina's gown overflows with cascades of pink and ivory lace ruffles accented with multi-colored roses. Holding a dainty gold gilded fan with lavendar flowers, she is standing on a gold gilded handpainted base with sculpted yellow and lavendar rosettes and leaves below her. There are a total of 4 areas of minimal lace damage to this dancer. Two tiny areas of damage are located to the lace at the rear of her dress along the bottom edge just to the left of center, approx 8mm x2mm and directly above that site on the next ruffle is a missing area of lace 4mm x 3mm. Immediately over her left leg at the bottom ruffle is an area of missing lace approx 5mmx5mm and one more tiny area along the bottom ruffle to her right of center approx3mmx3mm. Additional pictures are forthcoming for depiction here, but for now, are available upon request. This piece bears the blue backstamp of the crowned mark with the numbering 1762 below it, as depicted next to the Volkstedt category name at the page top.
