This porcelain salad plate is an antique Haviland &Co. china piece, "Schleiger 577A". The smooth edge is trimmed in a band of gold, and along that edge it is encircled with an exquisite band of contrasting greens that are intermingled with gold coloured rings. From those rings drape delicate links of foliage with a single flower adorning each. The porcelain dish is further embellished by ovals with fauna that is again characterized by the striking greens and gold already mentioned; these ovals, while a disruption of the inner ring, serve as an extention of this elegant style. The underside of the plate is stamped in green: "Haviland France" and in red: "Haviland & Co Limoges"
