This is an astounding piece produced by the Sitzendorf porcelain factory in Germany, circa 1900. A man sits beside a woman beneath a pillar overgown with flowers and lush green foliage. Her sister is at her side, guarding her from the man's advances! Three lambs are featured in the scene as well, nestled among the hand-sculpted hard paste flowers at their feet. The base is remarkably ornate, decorated in the rococo revival style characteristic of this manufacturer. The base is adorned with flowing, gold-gilt scrolls. All the figures are fringed with fine porcelain "Dresden lace." This is a remarkable and lively porcelain scene, whose exquisite quality and detail is truly beyond compare!
