This is an astounding piece produced by the Sitzendorf porcelain factory in Germany, circa 1900. Five figurines are seated about a table. A cape and hat are draped across a stool near the table. An adorable fruit basket and two bottles of wine are set upon the table, with a intricately decorated flower tablecloth beneath. A handpainted rug adorned with sculpted hard paste flowers lines the floor of the scene. The base is ornately decorated in the rococo-revival style, with scrolling, embossed foliage, eagle wings, a crown, and gold-guilding. All the figures are fringed with fine porcelain "Dresden lace." This is a remarkable and festive porcelain scene, whose exquisite quality and detail is beyond compare!
