This is an interesting Choisy-le-Roy (French) piece featuring five figurines set upon a colorful, footed base with gold guilding. Extraordinary detail can be found throughout this piece, from the bird portraits painted on the base, to the tiny hand sculpted flowers and water pots, to the baskets upon the womens heads. This is a scene of vibrant activity characteristic of so many Choisy-le-Roy works that portray the lives of common people in 19th century France. circa 1868-1896
